Thanksgiving is only 6 days away!  I’m definitely looking forward to the time off so that I can decompress and relax.

But I will also be volunteering at a food-bank helping the organization to get ready for what is their busiest time of the year.

As you relax from your job, spend time with friends and family, don’t forget about the people who are less fortunate than you.

There is a need everyday not just during the holidays.  But take some time out of your busy schedule to give back to someone else.

Don’t spend time getting caught up in the reasons why people are in the situation they are in,  just GIVE.

You’d be surprised how people have ended up in the situation they are in.  As someone who could have easily been homeless (But God), I’m less critical of other people who are.

I certainly would have never thought that homelessness would have ever loomed over my head.  But it was.

Open your heart and yes, even your wallet to donate to a reputable organization.

Here are a few ideas in which you can give:

  • Volunteer at a food-bank
  • Volunteer at a shelter
  • Donate to food and clothing drives
  • Donate to the Salvation Army
  • Google events that are taking place in your city and participate
  • Check into some of your local nursing homes to offer your support. Our elderly are often forgotten.  But they are human and need love just like anyone else.

You have 6 days to put your “Giving” plan into action!

I hope you will consider doing something.  No gift is ever too small.

So, as you’re in the grocery store shopping for yourself or your family, pick up a few items to donate to a family in need.

If you yourself are not in a position to buy anything, that’s fine.  Don’t feel down about that.  Donate your time.  You’ll feel so much more reward in doing that because you’ve stepped outside of yourself to help someone else!

I hope you’ll be inspired this season to help make a difference.

Give Back and Be Blessed
