It’s nice to have people around with whom we can talk and bounce our ideas or just share what’s on our hearts.  It’s even nicer to have people surround you who encourage you and cheer you forward.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have such a group of people or a person.  If you are one of the fortunate people, there will be times when no one is available for you.

So, what do you do when no one is around to be your cheerleader?

Well, you must encourage yourself.

This is what David did in 1 Samuel 30:6 AMP:

Further, David was greatly distressed because the people spoke of stoning him, for all of them were embittered, each man for his sons and daughters. But David felt strengthened and encouraged in the Lord his God.

As we go into another week, find the encouragement you need to face another day, continue working on that goal, deal with family and co-workers in the Lord.

Spend some quiet time with God in prayer and/or in his word.

If you’re not well versed in the Bible, go to Google 😊.  Search for scriptures concerning whatever issues you maybe having by using the following search criteria: what does the Bible say about ‘fill in the blank with your issue’.

This is something I do when I’m having trouble finding the exact verses that concern what I’m going through or feeling.

Note that many scriptures won’t have the key word for which you searched in the scripture.  But that doesn’t mean it’s not applicable to your needs.

If you’re still feeling a little bit intimidated, encourage yourself through music.  Listen to a song that speaks to your spirit.

I love music.  So, I’m always listening to a song that gives me strength, hope, joy or peace.

Don’t fuel negative feelings by feeding on negative thoughts.

Don’t watch things that don’t promote healthy thoughts or emotions.

Don’t listen to things or people that don’t promote healthy thoughts or emotions.

Sometimes it’s necessary to put distance between you and people who are always grumbling and complaining or want to use you as a dumping ground.  This doesn’t help you.

Feed your mind and your emotions with positive, healthy things.

Encourage Yourself and Be Blessed
